AI Assistance
Inline AI drafting and refinement inside Productivity Workbench.
Additional cost — usage-based, BYOK supported
Overview
Add in-tool AI assistance to supported artefacts and notes so teams can draft, refine and review content without leaving Productivity Workbench. The assistance bolt-on controls inline AI buttons only; coding-agent hand-offs remain a separate bolt-on.
Features
- Inline AI assist buttons on supported Vision, Outcome, Epic, Feature, Story and note-editing surfaces.
- Draft, rewrite, shorten, expand or structure text before accepting it into the form.
- Optional dual-model review so a second model can critique the draft before acceptance.
- Bring your own provider and key: OpenAI, Anthropic, Azure OpenAI, or a mock/local setup for evaluation.
- Safe-by-default accept-or-revert flow — nothing is inserted automatically.
- No dependency on coding-agent integrations: keep human delivery workflows while still getting writing assistance.
Benefits
- Reduce the time spent drafting feature descriptions, acceptance criteria and supporting notes.
- Keep authors inside the same popup and form instead of switching to external tools.
- Let teams adopt assistive AI without committing to agent-driven implementation hand-offs.
- Support regulated teams with explicit review and acceptance before any text lands in the record.
How it works
- 1. Turn on the bolt-on
Enable AI Assistance in the Bolt-Ons section of the Capabilities page. It is available on every subscription tier as a separately billed add-on.
- 2. Configure the provider
On the Preferences page, choose your AI provider, model and optional API key. Bring your own key is supported.
- 3. Open any supported popup or editor
Look for the subtle ✨ trigger beside supported text fields. The control only appears when the bolt-on and workspace AI settings are both enabled.
- 4. Review before accepting
Run the prompt, inspect the suggestion, then accept or revert it. Nothing is written back automatically.
Frequently asked questions
- Does AI Assistance also assign work to coding agents?
- No. AI Assistance is the in-tool drafting bolt-on only. Coding-agent hand-offs, issue creation and agent run tracking belong to the separate AI Coding Agent Integrations bolt-on.
- Can I use my own model provider?
- Yes. Bring your own key for OpenAI, Anthropic or Azure OpenAI, or use the mock provider while evaluating the workflow.
- What happens when the bolt-on is off?
- The inline AI buttons do not render and no AI calls are made. The rest of the workspace behaves exactly as before.
