Bolt-Ons, AI Assistance & Coding Agents
Bolt-Ons are optional paid add-ons that extend Productivity Workbench beyond your subscription tier. They are available on every plan — Free, Business and Enterprise — and billed separately. AI Assistance and AI Coding Agent Integrations are separate bolt-ons and can be enabled independently.
What is a Bolt-On?
A Bolt-On differs from a tier capability in three ways:
- Available on every tier — Free, Business and Enterprise can all enable any Bolt-On.
- Additional cost — each Bolt-On is billed separately on top of your subscription.
- Central registry — every Bolt-On is shown on the public Bolt-Ons hub with a dedicated detail page covering features, benefits, process and FAQs.
AI Assistance
The AI Assistance bolt-on adds inline drafting and refinement controls inside the tool. With it on, you get:
- Inline ✨ controls on supported artefacts and note fields.
- Review-before-accept text generation for descriptions, acceptance criteria and related content.
- Provider choice and BYOK support without enabling coding-agent hand-offs.
AI Coding Agent Integrations
The AI Coding Agent Integrations bolt-on focuses on external coding-agent hand-offs and AI delivery telemetry. With it on, you get:
- The ability to assign work items to AI agents (such as GitHub Copilot via GitHub Issues) with run history on the item.
- A bug & vulnerability scanner inbox feeding the Tech Debt list with proposed remediations.
- The AI Effectiveness report for AI-touched work and agent-driven delivery hand-offs.
- Robust review for regulated enterprise — AI-touched workflow events carry provenance and land in the Audit Log.
Turning a bolt-on on
- Open Capabilities in your workspace.
- Scroll to the Bolt-Ons section at the bottom of the page.
- Toggle AI Assistance, AI Coding Agent Integrations, or both.
- On the Preferences page, configure your AI provider and (optionally) bring your own key where required.
What changes when the Bolt-On is off?
Nothing. Bolt-ons default to off. If AI Assistance is off, inline AI controls stay hidden. If AI Coding Agent Integrations is off, agent assignment and related AI workflow controls stay hidden. Your existing process is otherwise untouched.
